Ana-Mia Louw holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, which she earned in 2014. During her studies, she cultivated a keen interest in optical design. Subsequently, she secured a position at Simera as an Optical Designer, contributing to the development of large earth observation satellite payloads that were successfully launched in 2018.
Driven by her passion for both management and optics, Ana-Mia took the lead during the establishment of Simera Sense, a company specialising in the production of high-resolution earth observation payloads for small satellites. Since the beginning of 2018, she has served as General Manager and later as Operations Manager at Simera Sense. Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through her enrolment in courses at the Stellenbosch Business School.
At Simera Sense, we are changing the way mission providers think about Earth Observation. As our planet is evolving, we face new challenges to monitoring our environment and making timely decisions. Our goal is to increase the detail that is sensed with smaller satellites while making Earth Observation effortless and affordable.
